I found this picture on the Honduras Outreach Inc. website. I thought it would be a good visual for us as we pray for Cary in Honduras. We all know what it is like going to a foriegn country with the message of Jesus. It can feel like the task is insurmountable. That is why i think pictures like this one are helpful. They assist us in remembering that God cares about individuals and that He knows the heart of each one. If these three girls were the only lives that Cary was able to touch with the love of Jesus the trip would still have been worth every bit of trouble and time and money. Here is what Cary had to say about the trip before he left...
"I am leaving February 3rd to go to Honduras on a mission trip through Honduras Outreach, Inc. in Decatur, GA. I am joining a team from Tabernacle and First Baptist in Newnan, GA. We will be working in the village of Mal Pais. Our work will consist of building latrines, roofing, pouring concrete, vacation Bible school, and medical clinics. I am excited about this trip. it will be my first organized mission trip since college. I pray that the Lord will use me and that I will be sensitive to His spirit and "seize the day" when the opportunities arise. I want to work hard and share the gospel of Christ at every chance. This is a ministry of building relationships and through the love of Christ drawing people to Him. For they will know that you are Christians by your love. I will be returning late Saturday the 10th. Please pray for the 24 missionaries that are going. Talk to you later."
Cary, thanks for serving bro. We love you. Amanda thanks for the info and thanks for supporting Cary in this effort. I hope you have a great week with your madre.

Thanks Amanda for filling us in on Cary's trip. We will be praying for his safety.
I am back home now. I had a wonderful time at the Heart Conference at Northland. We heard several challenging messages as we were encouraged to keep going strong in our ministry.
It's funny - when I got home last night we had homemade pizza! How appropriate.
Clair, I saw your old friend Brad Anderson while I was there. He is getting married on June 23 in the Greenville area. He has pastored for several years in Antigo, WI.
I see him regularly at Conferences I attend.
I also was able to visit with Amy and Justin Brumbaugh for a short time while I was there.
Mom, so glad to hear things are going so well for you. We continue to pray for your good health.
April stayed healthy the whole time I was gone. We're all doing pretty good right now - maybe the
-15 degree weather has killed off all the germs. Now we are praying that our car will continue to start during this very cold snap. Also pray for wisdom regarding our next vehicle. We are getting to the place where our minivan is just too cramped and an opportunity has presented itself for us to get a 12 passenger van. 12 pass. are very rare and these are very well maintained. It would probably mean selling our Windstar and having a big enough tax return to supplement that. We'll see.
Have a great Sunday!
Hi Ya'LL, as Paula Dean says. We are doing fine here in TN.We are praying for Cary, and Amanda.
We had a great day Sunday. The letters you all sent were so very special. We look forward to reading them again and again.Clair and Tina did a great job of planning and organizing the whole thing. Others helped, but they did the bulk. And it was great to see Jeff again. We were sorry Kathy could not come, but it was her choice to stay home. The reason is that their daughter Jennifer is away from the LOrd and has been living in sin. And just recently broke of her relationship and they are praying that this will be the beginning of her coming back and Kathy said that if she did come back and came to the house they needed to be there. I understand that and so we are praying for them and with them that this will happen soon but in the Lord's time.
We had a great time remembering times, places and people yeaterday afternoon. Jeff has not changed at all.
The messages he brought were really good. I'll get copies and send them to you so you can hear them. I'm going to listen to them again.
The Calvary Quaretet was here and they are so very good. They come to minister not entertain. So it was a great day.
Jeanetta and Tim were here. Pray for them they are not in church at this time and they need to be.
CAleb, I'm glad you had a good trip to the conf. And I'm glad April stayed well.
Curtis called Sat and Sun and he is doing well. They are building bunkers and putting them in towns. Not his favorite thing to be doing.
We are looking forward to Clif and SAlly coming this next weekend. Then on Mon we will be leaving to go to Ohio and NY to get K&P and ALL of their things to bring them down to Atlanta to fly out on the next Mon for Tobaga.
Curtis told me he and a Sargant friend were going to stay up and watch the SB because they had Mon off. GO Colts!!!!
I stayed up and watched it. Dad was in bed. It was good.
Well, I better close for now you all will get tired of my rambelings. Love you all very much, Mom
Mommy we do not get tired of your ramblings.
Oh praise the for He is good His mercy is everlasting... He spared our precious Cary from injury and even death.
We are so sadden by the loss of these other great men of God. Our family is lifting these other familys up in prayer.
Amanda, I love you. I know you must have had some really tense moments for a while. God bless.
Curtis I love you.
Good night all.
Dear Family,
I noticed that Amanda wrote on her last comment that upon my return I would give a full report on my wonderful experience in Honduras. As you all should know by now my trip was cut short by a very bad accident in the rural Mal Pais village of Honduras. I was on the truck and fully involved in what transpired on that jungle road. I will not be able to fully convey what I feel but know this: I serve an all powerful, all knowing and all loving GOD. One day we will share about what happened but for now "sieze the day" and make every moment count for the kingdom of God and eternity. It could be your last!
In Christ Alone, CDR
We are praying for you Cary & Amanda! I pray that God's strength will uphold both of you as you minister to others and as others minister to you this week. Remember -- (this is my favorite Psalms) -- "The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? THE LORD IS MY STRENGTH OF MY LIFE; of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalms 27:1
we love you, C.W. Roth family
Psalm 39 hit me like a ton of bricks this morning! I appreciated it out of the ESV please read it...
I said, "I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in my presence." I was mute and silent; I held my peace to no avail, and my distress grew worse. My heart became hot within me. As I mused, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue: "O LORD, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am! Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Selah. Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather! "And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you. Deliver me from all my transgressions. Do not make me the scorn of the fool! I am mute; I do not open my mouth, for it is you who have done it. Remove your stroke from me; I am spent by the hostility of your hand. When you discipline a man with rebukes for sin, you consume like a moth what is dear to him; surely all mankind is a mere breath! Selah. "Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry; hold not your peace at my tears! For I am a sojourner with you, a guest, like all my fathers. Look away from me, that I may smile again, before I depart and am no more!"
(Psalms 39:1-13)
Cary, we are so glad you are home. Thanks for keeping us posted.
We love you and we are here...
Let us continue to pray for one another.
Thank you so much, Caleb for putting that passage on the blog. I have never read that version. Wow how powerful. I really needed to hear that.
Cary thank you for commenting. Please know how badly I want to comfort you. I really only know to pray right now. My heart has an ache in it every time you come to my mind, and at that moment I lift you and Amanda up to our heavenly Father.
Cary and all of you please read and hold this song close to your heart along with the comforting words from the Bible.
This is one of my very favorite Hyms. I sing it to my children. I have hummed it during some very dark hours in my life. When I think about how much our daddy loves us and then I read from Gods word that Gods love is inmeasurable I feel so Safe and Secure in my relasionship with my Lord.
More secure is no one ever than the loved ones of the Savior not yon star on high abiding nor the bird in home nest hiding.
God His own doth tend and nourish, in His holy courts they flourish like a father kind he spares them, in His loving arms He bears them.
Neither life nor death can ever from the Lord His children sever, for His love and deep compassion comforts them in tribulation.
Little flock to joy then yeild thee!Jacobs God will ever shield thee; rest secure with this Defender At His will all foes surrender.
What He Takes or what He gives us Shows the Father's love so precious;we may trust His purpos wholly- Tis His children's welfare solely.
Lina Sandell Berg
Wow!! That last verse really speaks to me.His all powerful hand takes and gives as He wills!! We must trust Him!!
Love you all so much.
Cliffie was sooo nice to see you and Sal. I praying that you will Know clearly the path that God would have you go. I know God is going to do some great things through you and Sally.
Good night, Sis
Cita,
Thank you for sharing that song. I also love the 1st verse.
Children of the Heav’nly Father safely to His bosom gather; Nesting bird nor star in heaven such a refuge e’er was given.
That song has also been a blessing to our family, in fact, we sang it last night at supper – before we saw it on the blog, how neat is that?
Last year on father’s day I told the story about the author of that song at church and it made a pretty big impact on Ryrie and Regann so every time we sing it they are sure to remind us of the story.
Lina Sandell was the daughter of Jonas Sandell, pastor of a church in Fröderyd, Småland, Sweden. At age 26, she accompanied her father on a boat trip across Lake Vättern to Göteborg, during which he fell overboard and drowned. The tragedy profoundly affected Lina and reportedly inspired her to write the above hymn. Known as the Fanny Crosby of Sweden, she wrote 650 hymns. She married Stockholm merchant C. O. Berg in 1867.

Well guys, here we are snowed in at Becky and David's. What better place to be if you have to be in that condition!!!It is beauiful out. They have a birdfeeder outside the back door/window. There are 5 pair of red birds, 2 bluejays and many other birds and it is so much fun to watch them. Becauseof the snow we have changed our plans a little. We are not going to NY or PA. We are going to stay here until Paul calls and says we can get down in to and out of his drive. Probably Thur some time.So Dad has had time to write something for me to put on the blog. Mom
Greetings, I'm snowed in with your Mom here at Becky and David''s in Ohio. Our plans to see my sisters for Portia's birthday Wed are now impossible. Hopefully we will pick up K&P and their luggage on Thur and head South.
Cary's situation has drives up all to our knees in worship and prayer and sorrow.
Worship of God's soverignty and holiness. Prayer for perception of all those surviving. And sorrow for all who lost their friends, spouses, coworkers, parents and relatives.
Cary of course is our main concern from a human perspective. I am confident that aCary will move through this test having gained the depth and maturity and faith that his heavenly Father set before himm. Crisis does not prove character but rather response to the crisis.I am praying for you Cary, that day by day and moment by moment "Aabba" will walk with you with His hand on your shoulder reminding you of Himself and His attributes that will draw from you a freeing and liberating response.
Thank you all for the kind words you wrote for my 10th ann. at Community. We had a great time!!!! We thank God for this tiime at Community, I have wnjoyed pastoring here, These are gracious people who love me in spite of myself.

Well, Hope mom and dad have been able to dig out and head home by now. Just wanted to share an answer to prayer with you and pass along a request. They were about to give up and try invitro but found out a couple days ago that they are expecting. Praise the Lord!
