I wanted to take a moment to ask you all to pray for our very good friends the McCay family. Most of you know Beka, Sally's best friend. Over the weekend Beka's nephew Robby passed away. He was 19 months old. (If you know the McCay's, Robby was Lauren's, the oldest daughter's, baby.) The whole situation is quite tragic and I am certain it will be a rough road to travel as the family copes with his death. Please, please pray for them. Pray that they will remember God's soveriegnty. We are hoping to be able to see some of the family as Lauren and her husband live in Charlottesville, about 2 hours from us. Thanks for praying.
Love you all.

Im so sad to hear this news. We will be praying earnestly for this family. What can we do for them besides pray. May I send a card. I love you both very much and I am so sorry for the loss of your dear friend.

Hello All,
Beka called today to give me the funeral information and I thought I would pass it on to all of you in town if you should be moved to attend. There will be a service at Fairview in Athens at 7:00 PM tomorrow (Friday). Viewing from 4:00-7:00 PM.
Beka reported that Lauren and her husband, Bob, are doing better today. Bob is a pretty new Christian and is handling the tragedy "exceptionally well", in Beka's words. She said they all sat around the table this morning reading scripture and hymns, as many old hymns were written after or during a time of tragedy.
It's just about the awfulest thing I can think of. May God have His way and may His purposes be seen.
Yes, it really is so tragic. It set me back for a while. I have used this tragedy to help Lorena with some issues she is struggling with in her life. She has been quite pensive about the situation and we have spent more time in prayer than usual.
She is beginning to understand some very crucial things about life and how God is in absolute control. Chuck and I are putting in overtime with Lorena ( there is no such thing) But we are so burden for her soul. She is so smart and so strong willed. Please pray with us That we will some how be able to be the parents God wants us to be.
All that...I got off track, but the death of this sweet baby has open some doors of deep conversation with Lorena.
We are praying for this family.
I love you all.

Talked with Beka today and wanted to report that this family seems to be truly hoping in the Lord. As they are planning for the services, they are ever mindful of the greatness of our God and desiring for Him to draw people to Himself through this tragedy. Beka said they can just feel the prayers and have all been given an extra measure of strength and grace that only comes from God.
Makes me cry. We surely cannot understand how He works. But He does work.
Sally, Please, when you talk to Beka again, assure her of our prayers and those of our church. Our heart goes out to them and though we can't understand why, it's good to know that we know the One who does. I'm glad they are staying so close to the Lord. We prayh for Mr. McCay as he leads his children and their families through this time.
We love you and clif and all our children and pray that you will all have a good day in the service of the King today. Love MOM
