If you do not know let me take a moment to tell you. Tastefully Simple is "the original" Taste Testing company. Founded in Alexandria,Minnesota in 1995,Tastefully Simple,Inc. is a national direct sales company with over 30 scrumptious, convenience-driven gourmet foods for everyday enjoyment or special occasions. The products are marketed primarily through home taste-testing parties by consultants who offer samples, easy meal ideas, recipes and serving suggestions.
We also do business presentations, and fund raisers. There are many avenues to share these products with the public.
I had pondered the thought of joining the Tastefully Simple business for about 2 years. I signed up the last week of January. I was ready to make this commitment. Chuck is also very gung-ho about it all. He has been VERY supportive. He also has really liked every product he has tasted.
Well, I just couldn't wait for my start up kit to arrive; when it did arrive I stacked up the boxes and prayed over them and gave my little business to Jesus and thanked Him for allowing me to stay home and also give me a means to help our family. I gave my bus. to Him and told Him how much I wanted to glorify Him through it. I then open the Word and asked God to please show me through His word that I can do this for His glory. I have not read in Jeremiah in long time. I just opened the Bible and that is the book I first looked at. I came right to a highlighted verse and it was one of my very favorite ones." Jer. 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not." WOW! that was it I knew then that God indeed has His blessing on this endeavor.
Well a couple of days later I looked on the TS website to see if I could find any other consultants in my area (my sponsor lives in Atlanta) . Well I found a list and just randomly picked one. Her name is Suzanne. I called her up and introduced myself and asked her if she would allow me to shadow her at a couple of parties. She told me a little about how she ran her bus. and said she would love to help me in any way. That was that. then a few days later I got a call it was Suzanne. She said " I was planning on doing an exhibit at "The Taste of Chattanooga". Something has come up. Would you like my spot?" Well, I wasnt sure what to say (being so new with the product). The Taste of chatt. is held at the chatt trade and convention center. It is a large gathering of Restaurants and catering services and other food related businesses. Each of them feature there best food Item and serve it to those attending the EXPO. OK! Well It was going to cost me $200 . I called my sponsor and she was so excited. She said I couldnt ask for a better way to kick off my TS business. So Chuck agreed and we came with the money. Well, my sponsor talked me through what to get a hold of for my display and what products to sample. I pulled some resources together (I only had less than a week to get this together). I did it! By myself I went and set it up and maned my station from 10:00 to 8:30.( Chuck came and kept me company for the last few hours.) WOW! it was a hit! I had so much interest. I received so many leads. and have already booked partys from my leads. OH, yes! I also got to do a TVspot on the 12:00 news. They really took me by surprise. Every one that saw me said I did great. I talked about two of our best products. :) :)
The biggest thing that came out of it is this. There is a Restaurant in our town called Bone Fish Grill. They are a very upscale rest. They have won the Chattanooga Taste Award for the past two years. ANYWAY, Their owner and manager were so impressed with my products. They want me to do an exclusive Taste Testing party in thier restaurant for some of there best clients. They will also do a wine tasting of there products with mine. Isnt that so amazing? This will take place in May or June. Now, what I'm saying is that God is blessing me already. Monday actually starts off the real Kick off of my party's I will be doing what we call "6 in a dozen" I will be having six parties in 12 days. Guess who is hosting my first one. Yes, MOMMY. She has never hosted a home party of any kind. Im so glad she is doing this. Her testimonial will be the best- that "This really is a home party you will want to do again". I have sold over $150 in product before any partys.
So my goal at this moment is that through these 6 parties I will be able to pay off my investments, Also that I will get many bookings.
As you can tell I am so pumped about these products and my new Bus. Please call me and I would love to talk more about it.
YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WILL BE EATING AT THE NEXT FAMILY GATHERING! HAAA HAAA!
I Love you all and ask for your prayers .

Cita,
This is "tastfully great" news.
I am so glad to see you fired up about this. It's right up your alley and seems like a good fit on the outset. Please tell Landry thanks for commenting. I miss him too. My favorite show is "24."
Can I order food off of the website from you? I noticed that you were not on the consultant list yet. What's up with that? Is this like Schwan's in some ways. That may be a "dirty word" now, since they are the "competition."
Well, I am anxious to hear how your 6 in 12 works out. Good luck trying to get mom to buy. We all know how she is with that party stuff. Just kidding, mom. Is it that you miss the party scene since all of us kids are gone? Well, love you all. I dont have much going on today at work, yet, but I had better get out of Rick's office before everyone starts gathering around to see what I am so interested in. Love you all. And to you nieces and nephews out there..."Peace, to you my children." I love and miss hanging out with you. Clair, uhhhhh, Clair? Clair? CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! There, now that I have your attention, Where in the heck have you been dude. Tina, you too. How about a comment just to let us know that you haven't been captured by the Soddy Daisy boogey monster. I know he's a mean one, and so please let us know if you need back-up to ward him off.
out.
clif

I might no have told you about the expo. but I know I have told you about all of this. I love you. And you how much you mean to my little Landry. Thanks for treating him so special.
Great news on your new adventure, Cita! I'll be praying for you. It's exciting to hear how God is blessing already!!!!
Clif as for boogey monsters in Soddy -- I have 7 of them:)))) Of course, I wouldn't consider Jennalyn a monster yet. She is still a petite little girl. (13lbs at 7 months Wow!)
Well, we have been quite busy around here with adjusting to a new job for Clair. It is going pretty well. Everything is GREAT! Now we just need to master our routine. Which I am not a very good routine person! The truth be told!! I do though know how to get things done --- fast and sufficient. I do better when I am under pressure. Though I do strive everyday or every other day to try and do better with my routine.
We just finished a game of pictionary!! The girls won! Yeah!
A thought on school--- I would like to share with you that
I am very excited on how we have had the opportunity to go to the library once a week. We rotate the boys together then Evelyn & Madelyn. We spend the day with them and do a few special things & do errands. I believe we started sometime last fall. The libary really has done wonders for Justin especially for reading. He would get all sorts of topics that would we fun to explore for him. Edwin & Evelyn really haven't had a problem with reading they just like reading and do it all the time. They really have a desire to read the Bible which helped them a great deal. Not saying that Justin doesn't want to read the Bible. He just doesn't enjoy reading:))) He likes to be read to. (I believe that is the right to.)
Well, just in the last three weeks our reading has really blossomed. They were getting many books on either cassette or CD. Then for some reason one of the cassette had a book with it. And it dawned on me that I can show them how to find the book to match the audio CD or tape so that way they can listen and follow along. Which is diffinitely a bonus!! Using more of their senses. So now we are onto big and better and longer stories. Edwin this week is doing one of the Chronicles of Narnia. So they really have grown! Praise the Lord.
That is one way you can pray for us by the way! That our reading will continue to grow. If it were me that is what I would do is --sit around, read and eat bon bons::)))) So if you do run into a good book on CD. Think of us! We love them.
I love each and everyone of you! I enjoyed very much reading everyone's topics and comments. I believe we are on the next adventure of really getting to know one other through all of this!!! Thanks Clif!
Well, believe it or not I may have said too much. ::))))))
Good Night for now!
Praying for ya Cita!! See you Monday at Mom's for your party. Looking forward to it.
Hello everyone,
YES, I am having a party!!!!!
Now don't you all get the idea to start a business and call me to have a party unless you,Sally, want to start a acleaning business, then you can have a party and clean my house. Ha Ha
Yes, Cita, Dad and I are proud of you taking this step. We are prqaying the Lord will bless you.
I love you. Mom
Tina,
What great news about progress in homeschooling! Reading is definitely a wonderful love to have. I wish I still loved to read. I used too. College ruined me and now it is something I have to discipline myself to do. I hope I'll grow to love it again! Clif and I have been listening to a book on tape in the car called "When People are Big and God is Small." It's been good.
Well, I'm off to the church office. Good to hear from you! We can't wait to come home and hug all your necks.
And Caleb and April, we look forward to seeing you soon!
Family is so very good. I'm thankful this blog has been a way to stay in touch better. One thing I try to be mindful of is not getting caught up in "the ministry to everyone else in the world" that we forget to care for and be connected with our own. I am reminded of the old testament and what an emphasis is placed on families. And to have a family that are all trusting in the One True God, it must be one of the biggest blessings of your life.
Glad to see everyone today...
Missing Cary.
Tina, so happy to hear about the library thing. I like going to libraries. I havent been to many but there is one by my house and I intend to go soon. I would also like to visit the library of congress. That would be pretty sweet. Well...Sal and I plan to go to Wegman's tonight with Corey and Kristy. Wegmans is a grocery store. It was voted FORTUNE magz's "Best place to work" in 2005. They evidently have incredible customer service as well. I will let you know about our experience.
Peaceness.
Clif
Hey,April double check to see if those products are Tastefully Simple products I am not aware of those two items. We do have some incredable salsa called Razzylime salsa.
That was a cute idea with Ry and Reagan on St. patty day.
Tina I am so glad to hear your children are enjoying reading. I too am excited about lorenas reading skills. She improves in all her academics every day seems like.
Today we had the children look on the book shelves for a few books that they had read many times and that maybe werent there favorite. then we took them to Mckays books and trade them in for different ones They really enjoyed that. That was a first. We just want to do anything to keep the reading and the joy of stories fresh. I also found a great smoothie cookbook.
tina sorry we missed the cook out.
Any time chuck takes the time to plan out activities for our family to do together. We jump on that. I do nothing to discourage that. We are having a fun day. We are getting ready to go again to dinner and I think a movie. Not sure what all he has up his sleave.
Tell Clair I love him. Tell him he needs to check in .
Also Cary come on man. jot us a note. Tell us whats going on in the life of Cary Amanda and Audrey.
bye for now.

Hi, again, With this computer in the kitchen I keep checking to see if anyone has added anything to it. It's fun to see what you are saying. I think the reading thing is great. I love to read now that I have time. It gives me a reason to sit down for a while.
We just got home from, first a wedding this afternoon.Laura Broersma got married. Then we went a birthday party for Rosalyn. We had a cook out at the River Park.It was a little cool, I remembered how you all couldn't wait for the first spring picnic. We would nearly freeze to death, But we had fun!!!!
We received Steve and Beth Gault's prayer letter today. They had their E-mail and website addresses in it .I thought you might like to look at them.

Good Evening,
I'm soooooo sorry I haven't "checked in". We have had revival services every night Mon.-Wed. and then I have been trying to catch up on every thing that I had to put aside for those nights. Friday night we had a dinner out with friends and then this morning I left with my friend Rodger at 4:00 am to go to Guntersville, AL to bass fish. I got home at 6:30pm had dinner and now this. I caught four fish and one five pounder! A lot more is going on but no need to dramatize sick babies and broke cars, we've all had it befor. So ther is my week in a nut shell. Talk to you later when it is not so late and I don't have so much to do.
With Love, CDR

Hello everyone! I'm just rushing through again but I thought I would check in with you for a minute. Things have been rather interesting for us around here. We are going to see the cherry blossoms in DC on Sunday afternoon and that is exciting. I was reprimanded at work this week for talking about religion. . . that was quite an experience. I think my boss has it out for me. One of my dear friends from college is moving back to her home in Maryland, and will be only an hour away! That's good! Well, gotta run. Music reheresal tonight.
Sally, don't give up. I'm glad you will have a friend close by. Tell Clif to check his e-mail.
