God Shed His Grace on Thee

Hey guys. Thought it might be time for a new thread here on the crothblog. While this is not a patriotic theme I thought borrowing a line from America the Beautiful would be appropriate.
Anyway, before bed last night April and I were discussing what it means to “grow in grace.” We came down to two basic ideas. The first was the idea of growing in an understanding of what God’s grace has done for us in the past and how he has spared us from our own poor choices and sinful actions. The second was the aspect of growing in our experience of God’s grace becoming more real to us. His word promises that His grace is sufficient and so rather than praying that He would give us grace I try to pray that His grace would be more real to us or that we would fully experience the grace He offers. I would appreciate hearing what your idea of what growing in grace is like and how it has taken place in your life. I believe it involves looking behind us and seeing where God has brought us by His grace as well as on a daily basis choosing to live in light of His grace and basking in it during each situation whether positive or negative.

We certainly have experienced His grace by being placed in this great land of ours!

Hope your Independance Day was fantastic. Here are a few pictures that I thought I would share...

Love you all,

Caleb

Great thoughts Caleb. God's grace is evident in the fact that you even had this conversation with April. Hallelujah! When I think about God's great Grace there is this song that almost immediately comes to my mind. It is entitled Grace Unmeasured. It sums up this topic nicely, I think. It was written by one of Caleb's favorite musicians...Bob Kauflin. :-) I think the second verse really hits the heart of the matter that Caleb is talking about. But my favorite phrase is in the chorus..."Clothes me with power to do what is right."

Grace unmeasured, vast and free
That knew me from eternity
That called me out before my birth
To bring You glory on this earth
Grace amazing, pure and deep
That saw me in my misery
That took my curse and owned my blame
So I could bear Your righteous name

Grace paid for my sins
And brought me to life
Grace clothes me with power
To do what is right
Grace will lead me to heaven
Where I’ll see Your face
And never cease
To thank You for Your grace

Grace abounding, strong and true
That makes me long to be like You
That turns me from my selfish pride
To love the cross on which You died
Grace unending all my days
You’ll give me strength to run this race
And when my years on earth are through
The praise will all belong to You

Hey all just a little explanation on the pictures. Our daycare had a float in the July 4th parade here in West Bend and Ryrie road his bike in the parade. We rigged it up to carry the flag up there. Ryrie did a great job riding it even in the wind. He was a little soar afterwards and wanted us to get the rigging off his bike right away. The picture of Cassia May was doctored up a little but turned out very nice.
Clif, thanks for sharing the song from Bob I think it does bring out the power of God's grace as well as His great sovereignty.

Hello Roth Family,
Here we are in Louisville. . . all moved in. . .MUCH thanks to Curtis and Lauren for making the trip up to help us unload and begin to get situated.
It's 10 o'clock now and Clif has been in bed since eight. Trying to get used to the knew schedule is a little bit of a challenge. We had dinner with Christina and Allison this evening. It was nice. What a blessing to have them here.
Thank you Cita for the rooster treats you sent, they work nicely in my HUGE new/old kitchen! And Nom, I'm not sure if I should thank you or not for all the pez items you sent. . . Clif and I looked through them together as he reflected on each one!!! He's a funny guy I tell ya!
Hope each one of you are doing well. Love you and can't wait 'til our next gathering!
