Solo Girlia de Birthdia

That means today is the birthday of the only girl.
Happy Birthday
Cita Marie Halloran!!!!!!!!!!
I hope your day is great.
You have been testimony to God's sufficient grace to His children. Thank you for building your life on the ROCK.
If that is not you second from the right than we are all going to imagine that it is. Thanks for serving the body of Christ. I am sure those at ERBC would bear witness to that thanks.
Sis,
One thought from me to you on your birthday...
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Love you sister.

for my wifee...cause i love 'er
Well, i am not going spend much time qualifying this...cause most of you know me and know that i owe my life to my Creator and His work of redemption and He is "my everything." I heard this song today for the first time and had to share it. You all know how much of a miracle it is that i have a wife like Sal!
I edited a couple of words, but they were minor.(e.g. color of hair, and shoes, she doesn't wear "holey jeans", and she never gets tipsy.) So, I know most of you don't like country music, so just think of this as a poem. Hope you enjoy...
She's Everything
Will Nance/Brad Paisley
She's a gray pair of running shoes
A cute pair of jeans
She looks great in cheap sunglasses
She looks great in anything
She's I want a piece of chocolate
Take me to a movie
She's I can't find a thing to wear
Now and then she's moody
She's a Saturn with a sunroof
With her blonde hair a-blowing
She's a soft place to land
And a good feeling knowing
She's a warm conversation
That I wouldn't miss for nothing
She's a fighter when she's mad
And she's a lover when she's loving
Chorus
And she's everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
I talk about her, I go on and on and on
'Cause she's everything to me
She's a Saturday out on the town
And a church girl on Sunday
She's a cross around her neck
And a grumble 'cause its Monday
She's a bubble bath and candles
Baby come and kiss me
(some line about being tipsy)
She's the giver I wish I could be
And the stealer of the covers
She's a picture in my wallet
Of my unborn children's mother
She's the hand that I'm holding
When I'm on my knees and praying
She's the answer to my prayer
And she's the song that I'm playing
She's the voice I love to hear
Someday when I'm ninety
She's that wooden rocking chair
I want rocking right beside me
Everyday that passes I only love her more
Yeah, she's the one
That I'd lay down my own life for
And she's everything I ever wanted
And everything I needShe's everything to me
Yeah she's everything to me
Everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
She's everything to me
love you Sal.

What? You think it's time for a new post or somethin'?
Ok, Ok...here.
To read the article that Caleb recommended click here.
To read dad's post entitled "How the Gospel Should Be Lived" click here.
You will notice the new format of the blog. Hope it does not throw you off too much. I just consolidated so that only one post appears at a time. To view past posts, simply click on the title in the list to the right. Try to keep your comments isolated to the post to which they pertain. Does that make sense? For example someone may start a discussion about a certain post. Let's keep that discussion isolated to that post. You can comment on any post at any time.
You all are getting great at this blogging thing. I am so thankful.
I love you all...
By the way...you should all check out GMAIL. Caleb, Sally, Curtis, and I have all set up accounts. There is a great chat feature and some other really cool little features. It is quite user friendly. If you have questions about it let me know...you can call me at work: 703-881-7229.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a Goodnight!

How the Gospel Should Be Lived
The good news is only as good as it looks. People were drawn to Jesus because of His compassion, humility, wisdom and the light He shed on life's dilemmas.
As body #2 the Church must, like Jesus, also present itself and it's message humbly, in love, with wisdom and with the answers to life's tough questions.
In specific the body of Christ on earth today is only as much a mimic of Christ as it's individual members. Every Christian must build a platform of "good works" upon which he can proclaim the Good News.
Someone has wisely said that "people don't care how much you know (including the good news) until they know how much you care."
Based on this premise the Gospel must be lived as described in Ephesians where it is labeled the "worthy walk."
The worthy walk has several elements which Paul carefully presents. The word worthy is a term of weight and balance. Having described our position in Christ and the doctrines related to our standing in chapters 1-3 Paul now approaches chapters 4-6 as a balance to our position. Our position must be balanced by our practice or our "walk". They should match. When they do the Gospel looks good. When the Gospel looks good, people are drawn to it and are willing to give credence to what it claims.
In short Paul lists 9 aspects of this worthy walk which point us toward specific attitudes and actions that should characterize those "in Christ".
Our walk is to be a walk of humility.
Our walk is to be a walk of unity.
Our walk is to be a walk that is different.
Our walk is to be a walk that is love(agape).
Our walk is to be a walk that is light.
Our walk is to be a walk that is wisdom.
Our walk is to be a walk that is Spirit filled, 5:18-6:9.
Our walk is to be a walk that is a warfare, 6:10-18.
Our walk is to be a walk that is a witness, 6:19-24.
When Christians' lives are conformed to Christ and show out His character, the Gospel looks good, because it is lived as Christ lived, body #1.
Caution : we are to be witnesses even in our weakness. But the better we live the stronger our platform, the stronger our platform, the bolder our message, the bolder our message the stronger our witness.
Love to you all,
Dad
